A Day in the Life of Jesus

At the break of dawn, the rooster crows. The day has begun. Jesus, along with the rest of the town, wake up. Jesus gets dressed in his usual tunic. Over that he puts on his fringed outer garment called a cloak. His sandals, made by the local sandal maker, were fastened together with leather straps. He carries with him a white cloth, so when the sun gets hot, he can cover it over his head.
Mary then makes a light breakfast and gives it to Jesus and Joseph to take to work with them. They work as carpenters, making many things from wood.
Later that day, Peter and John come over Jesus’ house for diner. When they enter, Joseph is there to welcome them at the front door, by washing their feet. Dinner is served in the upper level of their house. The men sit on cushions around a low table. She brings out soup made from Barley and a single bowl full of warm food. She also brings out eggs, cheese, and nuts. Mary carries out an amphora filled with wine and pours it out into hand-blown goblets.
It gets real dark, so Peter and John decide to stay at Jesus’ house for the night. They use their clarks to sleep in. The sun goes down and the people of Nazareth go to sleep....
