America Finds it Hard to Trust an Asian American.

Sometimes things change; sometimes they remain the same. Fifty years ago, Japanese Americans were forced into relocation camps due to the distrust of Americans towards Asians. Fifty years later, not much has changed according to a recent poll. A quarter of Americans polled aren't quite ready for an Asian president. Nearly 70% of Americans possess some negative attitudes towards Asian Americans, and also feel Asian Americans are more loyal to their native country rather than to America.
Though many people believe that Asian Americans have strong family values and are honest business people. 24% of Americans would disapprove of their family member marrying an Asian.
These results appears to be very disturbing, since U.S. is currently experiencing some difficulties regarding a U.S plane held captive by China. It is very important that we not repeat what has already happened in the past. The negative views of Americans concerning Asian Americans must not lead the Government to measures, which might repeat the horrid incarceration of Japanese Americans 50 years ago.
The negative views of Asians are the result of the lack of education and curriculum in our schools, and the misrepresentation of Asians in the media. How can we expect people to call America their home if we don’t even consider them as an American? Something must be done to erase the distrust of Asian Americans in people’s eyes, and it is up to America to erase these negative stereotypes out of every ones’ eyes....
