Abstract
This is a summary and an analysis of the public relations that are present at Charleston high school. Most of the information obtained is general knowledge or obtained through interviews. The analysis is accompanied by many recommendations for improving the school public relations.

Charleston high school is located in the east section of Charleston, Illinois. Charleston is located in east central Illinois and is also the home of Eastern Illinois University. Charleston has a population about twenty thousand people. Half of this population is college students. While EIU is a major university, it surprisingly does not greatly influence Charleston High School. The major composition of people in Charleston represent the middleclass socio-economic cohort. Charleston high school educates about a thousand students. Charleston High School does not have many different cohorts. One cohort that does peek its head through does so only in the faculty. It appears that a lot of the teachers are from the area. This seems to have made things stagnant in the past. Charleston High School has hired a new principal to take the place of Mr. Tucker who recently retired. This seems to be openly the waters to change. Mr. Broome is the new principal of Charleston high School. He asserted that his number one policy pertaining to public relations is that of “listening”.
